Ashley and Luis reached out to me about a month before their elopement date. We set up a video call as soon as possible. During their call it was immediately apparent how madly in love they were with each other! They were both so excited about their upcoming elopement and the plans they had for their day.
On the day, we met at Tunnel View for their first look. We chose a spot where Half Dome, El Capitan, and Bridalveil Fall would provide a beautiful backdrop. It was a hazy day due to wildfire smoke near Fresno, but the view was still stunning.
After their first look, the soon-to-be newlyweds exchanged bracelets made with beads matching each other's eye colors. We captured a few more photos at Tunnel View, where a little rainbow had formed at the bottom of Bridalveil Fall before making our way to Yosemite Valley for their ceremony.
At Cathedral Beach, Ashley and Luis exchanged the most heartfelt personal vows with El Capitan standing tall in the background and the Merced River flowing gently nearby. They didn't need vow books or rehearsed words. They spoke from their hearts; it was obvious how deeply they cared for each other through their words.
Following their ceremony, they made a Lego flower each, a tradition that started at the beginning of their relationship. They combined all of the flowers they had made through that point into a larger vase; their own special spin on wedding traditions like a sand ceremony.
The final stop of their Yosemite elopement day was Glacier Point for sunset and blue hour. We took a few more bridal portraits with Half Dome standing majestically in the background. Overall, their day in Yosemite was absolutely breathtaking. They could not have chosen a more epic venue for such an important day.
